Singer and actress Selena Gomez, along with her mother, are currently embroiled in a lawsuit concerning their mental health startup, Wondermind. Investors have come forward, alleging securities fraud and breach of contract, claiming they invested nearly $1.2 million in the company.
The plaintiffs accuse Gomez and Wondermind of failing to deliver on their commitments and of misrepresenting the company's financial health. A major part of the complaint focuses on Gomez's alleged failure to market the startup, despite promises to do so. The lawsuit claims that promised partnerships didn't materialize, initiatives never launched, and the app itself was never built.
According to the allegations, investors were kept in the dark about the company's troubles, only learning about its struggles through a September 2025 story from The Cut. The complaint states, "Gomez purported to sign a contract obligating her to perform and then ignored it... And for three years, while the Company quietly collapsed around them, not one of its founders, officers, or directors said a word to the investors whose money was funding the collapse."
Wondermind, which launched in 2021, aimed to provide daily mental health resources to users. The investors are now seeking to recover their initial investments and cover legal fees. Wondermind has not yet responded to requests for comment regarding the lawsuit.
