A planned murder case in Sri Ganganagar unfolds as investigators reveal a long affair and a meticulously timed plot, not a mere road accident.
The case began as a routine report of a hit-and-run during an evening walk in Sri Ganganagar, but investigators now describe it as a carefully staged murder. The alleged killer is 23-year-old Anjali Kumar, who, police say, killed her husband Ashish Kumar, 27, with help from her lover, 25-year-old Sanjay. The shocking twist came as autopsy findings contradicted a road accident, prompting a deeper probe and later confessions.
Police say the affair between Anjali and Sanjay stretched back seven years, predating her marriage to Ashish by nearly a year. Investigators noted that Anjali and Sanjay had maintained their relationship even after her family arranged the marriage to Ashish, a factor that allegedly fueled the motive for murder.
The investigation reveals that the plan was not impulsive but premeditated. Anjali reportedly visited her parental home in Sadulshahar 16 days before the incident, where she and Sanjay allegedly finalised the plan to remove Ashish from the picture. The murder occurred on a road in the 01KLM village area of the Sri Ganganagar district.
According to police, four people have been arrested so far in connection with the case. The developing narrative suggests a calculated effort to disguise the crime as a road accident, rather than a premeditated homicide.
As the investigation continues, authorities stress that the larger implications touch on the pressures and secrecy surrounding arranged marriages, and the consequences when long-hidden relationships come to light.
