It is completely unacceptable that early childhood care centers are allowed to operate without proper safety and fitness certifications. How can we trust the system when administrative excuses, like the transfer of assistant engineers, put our most vulnerable children at risk? Recently, a live cobra was found inside a facility's almirah next to paddy fields simply because of a broken window pane! While local officials blame uniform rent caps for pushing these centers into poorly maintained rented buildings, especially in urban areas, this should never be an excuse to compromise on basic infrastructure. Bureaucracy cannot take precedence over child safety.
