Imagine being out on the water for what’s supposed to be a fun pirate-themed party, music playing and everyone in high spirits, only for the entire deck to start tilting at a terrifying angle. That’s exactly what happened when a vessel carrying 148 people, including 20 children, began to sink, forcing everyone to jump into the open sea to save their lives.
The footage circulating is nightmare fuel; you see the boat leaning further and further until it just disappears. While it’s a relief that a massive rescue effort prevented a total tragedy, it really makes you wonder about the safety of these tourist excursions. Are these themed boats actually being inspected for structural integrity and weight limits, or are they just death traps waiting for a rough wave?
It’s one thing to have a 'pirate' experience, but fighting for your life in the water with your kids is a whole different level of reality that no one signed up for. We need much stricter regulations on these commercial party boats before our luck runs out. #safety #travel #culture https://thoxt.com/l/QXXPH4 🔗
