It is absolutely heartbreaking and infuriating to see another 7 of our fishermen snatched up by the Sri Lankan Navy while trying to earn an honest livelihood. That brings the total to 61 recent arrests! These men from Thangachimadam were just doing their job, yet their boat gets seized and they get accused of crossing the maritime boundary. Their families are out on the streets protesting because they know these men did not cross the line. Why do our people have to live in constant fear of being apprehended just to feed their families? It is high time the Union government stops giving false promises and steps up to handle this diplomatically with strict action. Even the Chief Minister had to write to the External Affairs Minister again. We need a permanent solution to this endless cycle of arrests and boat seizures, not just temporary political fixes!
