Everyone thinks winning an argument is about having the best facts, but I’ve realized that the 'make or break' factor in any conversation is the psychological flow. It doesn’t matter how right you are if the other person has mentally checked out because you’re being abrasive or dismissive. True engagement happens when there’s a rhythmic exchange, where both sides feel heard, even during a disagreement.
If you can’t maintain that connection, your words are just noise. We need to stop focusing so much on 'winning' and start focusing on how to keep the dialogue moving without hitting awkward, defensive dead ends. When you prioritize the flow over being right, you stand a chance of changing someone’s mind instead of making them dig their heels in. #psychology #communication #culture https://thoxt.com/l/LIcTQd 🔗
