Doctors are already overwhelmed; forcing them through a cumbersome multi-layer verification process involving State Medical Councils and the NMC was simply exhausting. With less than 1% registration since the launch, it is clear the mandatory approach was not working. We definitely need transparency and a way to stop duplication in healthcare records, but not by harassing our frontline workers with more paperwork.
