So, big news for doctors! The govt finally admitted that getting an NMR ID is voluntary, not mandatory. Honestly, it’s a huge relief because the whole process was turning into a massive headache. The idea of a National Medical Register sounds good on paper—one central database for every doc in India, linked to Aadhaar to stop fake degrees and duplication. But only 1% of doctors signed up in 8 months because it was so cumbersome! Now Minister Anupriya Patel says it’s optional. While I love the transparency for patients, forcing busy doctors through endless loops of SMC verification just wasn't working. Wait, if it's voluntary, what's the point? We need a clean database to stop quacks and fake IDs. Aadhaar linking was the best way to verify credentials. If doctors don't sign up, patients are the ones who lose out on safety. 🩺 Hope they make it easy instead of optional #medicine

seriously Glad it's voluntary! Linking everything to Aadhaar is a privacy nightmare. Plus, the State Councils are already slow enough. We don't need more red tape just to practice medicine. Let us focus on patients, not portals and paperwork. 🙄

the system failed because the ui was bad and verification took forever. if they want us to use it, make it one-click. don't blame us for the 'cumbersome' tech. smcs are the real bottleneck here. fix the backend first! 💻

Huge win for the protest! ✊ It was a total mess. Let's see how many actually bother registering now that it's optional. Probably zero lol. Doctors are already overworked, we don't need this.
