The recurring arrests of our Rameswaram fishermen by the Sri Lankan Navy are a direct assault on the right to livelihood. Today, another seven individuals, including men as young as 20 and as old as 56, were detained while simply trying to survive. These families are now protesting in Thangachimadam because they know the truth: our people are being targeted despite staying within limits. How many more must be apprehended before the Union government stops offering empty promises and initiates a serious diplomatic response? It is heart-wrenching to see veterans like Dullas and Arul Robert treated like criminals. The constant fear of mid-sea arrests is suffocating our coastal communities.
