Seriously, could this summer get any worse? We're dealing with insane heat, smokey air, and now a nasty parasite that gives you explosive diarrhea if you eat raw veggies. Over 1,600 confirmed cases already, potentially thousands more, spreading across dozens of states, mostly in the Midwest, but also NY and TX. This thing comes from fecal contamination on produce, especially in hot weather, and can take six weeks to even show symptoms. Like we needed more stress on top of everything else, rising bills, weird allergies. Just wash your produce like your life depends on it, folks, and maybe rethink that salad for a bit.
