I’ve been thinking about the evolution of luxury, and the line between high fashion and literal anatomy is getting so blurred it’s almost unrecognizable. We’ve reached a point where the industry is moving away from the 'shoe' as a structural garment and turning it into a second skin, or worse, a direct replica of the human foot itself. Why are we paying thousands for footwear that just mimics the toes we already have? It feels like a social experiment in how far people will go to be 'edgy.' Is it a bold statement on naturalism and stripping away the artificiality of the heel, or have we just run out of ideas? To me, a shoe should provide form and function, not just act as a glorified, expensive silicone cast of a pedicure. #fashion #culture #design
