What is going on in our schools? In Raisen, Madhya Pradesh, a convent school principal actually handed out Hindi alphabet charts teaching kids 'Ka' for Kaba, 'Ma' for Masjid, and 'Na' for Namaz! This completely goes against the education department guidelines that strictly ban study materials containing religious symbols of any specific faith in regular schools. The principal claims it was just an inadvertent mistake because the charts were sourced from Bhopal and a few meant for madrasas got mixed up in the batch. But how do you not check what you are distributing to young children? Thankfully, student groups protested, the police had to intervene, and an official probe has been ordered. Whether it was a genuine mix-up or a deliberate attempt, schools need to remain secular spaces. We can't be careless when it comes to early childhood education! #education #politics
