I am absolutely fuming over the 2026 Academy Award nominations. Every single year we hope the Academy finally bridges the gap between critical acclaim and what actual moviegoers love, but they proved yet again just how out of touch they really are. How on earth does a massive cinematic achievement like Wicked get completely shut out of Best Picture, and even ignored in costume design? And don't even get me started on the acting snubs! Paul Mescal, Amanda Seyfried, and Dwayne Johnson gave performances of a lifetime and got zero recognition. Meanwhile, F1 gets surprise nods, and Sinners somehow sweeps with a record-breaking 16 nominations?! Look, Sinners was great, but 16 nominations is ridiculous and crowds out so many other deserving films. The Oscars feel totally fake at this point. #culture #movies #entertainment
