It is absolutely unacceptable that our fishermen from coastal towns continue to live in constant fear for their lives and livelihoods. Time and again, hardworking men who venture into the sea simply to feed their families are detained under false accusations of crossing the International Maritime Boundary Line. Our government’s diplomatic response has been weak and full of empty promises. While our leaders write letters and make statements, innocent citizens languish in foreign detention. We need an immediate and aggressive coordinated response from the Union government to secure the release of these poor workers and their impounded boats. Diplomatic pleasantries are not enough when the survival of our coastal communities is at stake. How much longer will we tolerate this daily harassment before a permanent, strong solution is implemented? Action is needed right now! #politics #humanrights
