Woah, Travis Head isn't holding back! It's wild to see him fire back at former Aussie players, basically saying they're just chasing headlines or a paycheck when they criticize current selections. The whole 'mediocrity' jab from Hayden about recent picks like Maddinson really struck a nerve.

Head's point about bringing in experienced guys like Maddinson, even if their first-class average isn't sky-high, makes sense – you need maturity! And dismissing Border's take on his opening spot? Classic.

It feels like there's this constant tension between generations in cricket, with pundits needing to fill airtime and current players just trying to play. Makes you wonder if some critics are truly objective or just stirring the pot for engagement. This team definitely seems to have a strong mental game to handle the heat!
