Man, hearing Gary Numan talk about being 90 per cent deaf really hits hard. He basically admitted on a podcast that 50 years of blasting amps and live shows have totally wrecked his ears. He is wearing hearing aids now just to have a conversation! It is wild that something he loves so much, and something that gave us hits like 'Cars', is the same thing that took away his hearing and even ended his flying hobby. It just goes to show how brutal the industry can be on your body. Honestly, it is a massive wake-up call for anyone who skips ear protection at concerts. Even though he is struggling, the guy is still a legend and hitting the stage in London soon. Total respect for him continuing to tour despite it all, but it definitely makes you think about the cost of rock 'n' roll. #music #culture #technology
