It is absolutely shocking that 51 anganwadis in Ernakulam are operating without fitness certificates months after the academic year began. The excuse? A shortage of assistant engineers due to transfers. This isn't just a paperwork delay; it is a massive safety gamble. Just recently, a cobra was found inside an almirah at a Karumaloor anganwadi because of a broken window and overgrown surroundings! With 600 centers lacking their own buildings and struggling with fixed low rents that don't work in cities like Kochi, we are pushing our children into unsafe, rented shacks. Bureaucratic red tape and 'missing engineers' shouldn't come before the lives of toddlers. We need a complete overhaul of how these centers are managed and funded before a preventable tragedy occurs. Typical government apathy. They wait for a snake to crawl into a classroom before fixing a window. 'Non-availability of engineers' is uch a weak excuse when kids' lives are on the line. 🐍🚫

The rent issue is the real culprit here. You can't find a safe, modern building in a city like Kochi for the peanuts the government offers. If you pay low rent, you get low-quality, hazardous spaces. The budget needs a reality check! 💸 #Governance

Let’s be objective. The Karumaloor panchayat already took action by fixing windows and clearing the fields. Transfers are part of the system. Most of the 2,800+ centers are certified; these 51 will be sorted in a fortnight. No need to panic.

As a parent, 'don't panic' is easy to say until it’s your child near that almirah. A fitness certificate is a basic requirement. Why are kids even allowed inside if the building hasn't been cleared by an engineer? 😱
