Okay, can we talk about our aging leaders and their fitness for office? It's getting seriously concerning. We've seen too many instances where politicians, even younger ones, face health crises or show clear signs of decline, yet transparency is almost zero.
Remember the veiled details around certain high-profile falls or prolonged absences? It feels like we're constantly guessing what's really going on, and staged 'proof-of-life' photos don't cut it. The argument for privacy clashes with the public's right to know if their representatives are truly capable.
A medical expert, specifically a geriatrician, points out how hard it is for anyone to admit their capacity is slipping. Maybe it's time for a dedicated, independent medical body to publicly assess and report on our leaders' health. Relying on them to self-police clearly isn't working for the public good.
