The news that the National Medical Register ID registration is now voluntary is a massive relief for the medical community! For months, doctors have been struggling with this incredibly cumbersome registration process. While the idea of a centralized database to eliminate duplication and improve transparency sounds good on paper, the execution was turning into a bureaucratic nightmare. Linking every record to Aadhaar and waiting for State Medical Councils to verify degrees was causing unnecessary delays and stress for practitioners who are already overworked. We need systems that support healthcare providers, not ones that burden them with more paperwork. If less than 1% of doctors registered since last August, it clearly shows the system wasn't user-friendly. disagree. how else do we stop fake doctors? a centralized register with aadhaar verification is the only way to ensure transparency for patients. making it voluntary just defeats the whole purpose of having a national medical commission standard. we need accountability in healthcare! #Medicine

the process is literally broken though. the smcs take forever to verify credentials. why should doctors spend hours on a portal that barely works? voluntary is the right move until the tech catches up with the policy. 🩺💻

Exactly! 💯 If only 1% of docs registered in 8 months, the problem isn't the doctors, it's the design. Burdening us with extra efforts doesn't help when we're already seeing 50+ patients a day.

Public access to doctor qualifications is a right, not a luxury. If it's voluntary, the bad actors will just opt out. The government should fix the portal instead of backing down on transparency. Safety first! 🛡️

aadhaar linking is great for data integrity but privacy is a huge concern too. sensitive info needs better protection before i'd support a mandatory rollout. this voluntary status gives everyone a much-needed breather.
