It’s absolutely wild that 51 anganwadis in Ernakulam district are operating right now without their fitness certificates! They say it’s just bureaucratic delays - missing assistant engineers because of transfers - but how can we take that risk with young kids? Just look at what happened in Karumaloor panchayat recently: a literal cobra was found inside a cupboard at an anganwadi because a window pane was missing and it was surrounded by overgrown paddy fields. They fixed it after the fact, but why wait for a snake to show up? Add to that, around 600 anganwadis don't even have their own buildings. The uniform rent cap for both urban and rural areas means in expensive places like Kochi, kids are stuffed into low-rent buildings that come with a whole host of infrastructural and safety hazards. We need to prioritize child safety and fix this broken system before a real tragedy happens! #education #politics
