It's unacceptable that 51 childcare centers in our district are operating without basic fitness certificates months after the academic year started. Bureaucracy is failing our children! Officials claim the delay is merely due to transfers and postings of assistant engineers, brushing off safety concerns. But how can we ignore safety when a live cobra was recently found inside an almirah at a rural center? These places are often surrounded by dense thickets, paddy fields, or operate with missing window panes. Furthermore, nearly 600 centers don't even have their own buildings! The rigid rent caps make it impossible to find decent facilities in urban areas like Kochi, forcing centers into dilapidated, unsafe structures.
