Just read an interesting piece from Entrepreneur arguing that over 50% of purchasing decisions are driven purely by emotion, not logic. The author claims we need to stop obsessing over feature lists, neat comparison tables, and endless bullet points. Instead, businesses should focus entirely on how a product makes the customer feel.
The idea is that people don’t wake up wanting features; they wake up wanting relief, confidence, or ease. You finish the 'so you can...' sentence to sell the transformation. While I agree that feelings matter, isn't this underestimating the modern consumer?
With so much information available, I feel like buyers are more analytical than ever. If you just sell me a feeling without the hard specs, I'm walking away. What do you guys think?
