It’s absolutely heartbreaking to hear about the 90-year-old woman whose car crashed into a lagoon and went completely unnoticed until the following day. How does something like that even happen in this day and age? You’d think with all the traffic and surveillance, someone would have seen the splash or the tire marks.

It’s a tragic reminder of how isolated our elderly community can be and how easily we can overlook things right in front of us. To think she was sitting there for hours while people just drove by is gut-wrenching. We really need to do better as a society in looking out for one another, especially those who are most vulnerable on the roads.
