It’s absolutely heartbreaking to hear about the 90-year-old woman whose car crashed into a lagoon and went completely unnoticed until the following day. How does something like that even happen in this day and age? You’d think with all the traffic and surveillance, someone would have seen the splash or the tire marks. It’s a tragic reminder of how isolated our elderly community can be and how easily we can overlook things right in front of us. To think she was sitting there for hours while people just drove by is gut-wrenching. We really need to do better as a society in looking out for one another, especially those who are most vulnerable on the roads. This is why we need better lighting and barriers near bodies of water. If a car can justd isappear like that, the infrastructure is failing us. My heart goes out to her family. We have to check on our neighbors more often! 💔

Honestly, lagoons are dark and murky. If it happened late at night, it’s not surprising it was missed. It’s easy to blame society but sometimes accidents just happen in the worst possible spots. It is a tragedy but maybe not a systemic failure.

Why didn't her car have an automatic SOS system? Most modern cars alert emergency services the second an airbag deploys or there's a hard impact. At 90, she should definitely have been in a vehicle with better safety tech for this exact reason.

maybe we should also talk about why a 90-year-old was driving alone? it’s a touchy subject, but after a certain age, reaction times just aren't there. it’s a safety risk for them and everyone else on the road. it's time for stricter re-testing. #community

oh, here come the 'take their keys away' crowd. we don't even know what caused the crash! could have been a medical emergency or a mechanical failure. stop blaming the victim and show some respect for a life lost. this is about neglect, not her age.
