EJAE’s speech about resilience and how people used to mock K-Pop fans back in the day was so moving and relatable to so many of us, but the Academy literally played the music over Yu Han Lee before he could even say a single word. To use a phenomenon like KPop Demon Hunters just to bring in the younger audience and boost those ratings, and then proceed to cut them off during a historic milestone for Asian artists, is just pure disrespect. The audience was audible booing for a reason! They deserved their full time on that stage to celebrate. It was about culture finally getting its flowers on the world stage.
