In a shocking case from Kurnool, four people, including a woman, were arrested for allegedly administering an HIV injection to a doctor who is the wife of the accused's ex-lover. The group named B Boya Vasundhara, a resident of Kurnool, Konge Jyothi, a nurse at a private hospital in Adoni, and her two children in their 20s, allegedly plotted the attack after the man they say is the ex-lover married another woman. The motive, police say, was revenge and to disrupt the couple's life after the marriage change.
The victim, a doctor who works as an assistant professor at a private medical college in Kurnool, was returning home around 2:30 pm on January 9 when two men on a motorcycle rammed her scooter near the KC Canal at Vinayak Ghat, causing her to fall. Vasundhara reportedly approached under the pretense of offering help and injected an HIV-infected blood sample before fleeing as the victim raised an alarm. The doctor’s husband, also a doctor, lodged a complaint on January 10, prompting a police investigation.
Authorities say the accused procured HIV-infected blood samples from patients receiving treatment at a government hospital, stored the samples in a refrigerator, and used them to carry out the attack. The case has been registered under relevant IPC sections, and investigators are pursuing more details about the conspiracy and the individuals involved. The incident has sparked outrage and raised questions about safety and ethics in both personal conduct and medical environments.
The investigation is ongoing, and police have not released additional charges, but the four arrests mark a significant development in a case that has shocked the community in Kurnool and beyond.
