Gen V has been canceled after two seasons on Prime Video, ending the black comedy spin-off that followed the young superheroes at Godolkin University. The producers confirmed the decision, noting that although Gen V won’t return for a third season, the Gen V characters will continue to be explored in The Boys Season 5 and other VCU projects on the horizon. Gen V debuted in 2023 to strong reviews, earning a 97 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes and earning praise for expanding on themes from The Boys with a sharp, darkly funny twist. The show introduced Jaz Sinclair, Emma Meyer and Maddie Phillips among its leading cast, and built a devoted fanbase even as it faced the real-world tragedy of Chance Perdomo’s death in March 2024; producers chose not to recast his Andre Anderson role.
Despite the cancellation, the universe remains interconnected.
