Maruti Suzuki Q4 Sales Hit Record High, Stock Jumps 4%
Maruti Suzuki posts record quarterly sales and a modest profit drop, while analysts weigh SUV demand and market-share risks for the auto giant.
Maruti Suzuki India Limited posted its highest-ever quarterly sales at 6,76,209 units, an 11.8% rise from Q4 FY2024-25. The stock jumped over 4% to Rs 13,441 on the BSE after reporting a 7% YoY dip in standalone net profit for the March quarter to Rs 3,591 crore, versus Rs 3,857 crore a year earlier. Revenue from operations rose 28% to Rs 52,449 crore from Rs 40,910 crore in the same quarter last year.
Domestic sales stood at 538,994 units, while exports climbed to a record 137,215 units. For the full financial year FY2025-26, MSIL posted its highest-ever net profit of Rs 14,445 crore, compared with Rs 14,298 crore in the previous year.
Analysts remained divided on the stock’s outlook. Jefferies maintained a Hold with a target of Rs 13,800, flagging that Maruti Suzuki’s market share slipped to a 13-year low amid a shift in demand toward SUVs. The stock was trading around 24x FY27E earnings, below its 10-year average of 26x, and Jefferies cut its FY27–28E EPS estimates by 9%. Goldman Sachs kept a Buy rating with a target of Rs 15,800.
Looking ahead, Maruti Suzuki expects healthy volume growth and is expanding capacity, with margin improvement targeted by FY30, driven by SUV launches and EV growth. Despite short-term pressures, including mark-to-market losses and higher input costs, FY26 delivered record volumes and sales.
