India posted a record GST haul in April, with gross collections totaling about ₹2.43 lakh crore, up 8.7% from a year ago. After refunds, net GST mop-up stood at about ₹2.11 lakh crore, up 7.3%. Domestic transactions contributed over ₹1.85 lakh crore, rising 4.3%, while GST from imports surged 25.8% to ₹57,580 crore. Refunds were ₹31,793 crore, up 19.3%. The April data show a broad-based boost across sectors and tax heads, underscoring a strengthening revenue momentum as the new fiscal year unfolds.\n\nGeographically, Maharashtra led growth with 40% on-year expansion, followed by Karnataka at 42%, Telangana at 36%, and Puducherry at a striking 108%.
