New York City glittered last night as the Kering Foundation hosted its fifth annual Caring for Women Gala, a star-studded event dedicated to a truly vital cause: combating violence against women and supporting survivors. This year, the glamorous evening successfully raised over $5 million, continuing its powerful mission that began in 2022.
The Kering Foundation, known for its commitment to social impact, ensures that while the overarching cause remains constant, the specific non-governmental organizations (NGOs) receiving the funds rotate.
Previous beneficiaries have included impactful groups like the National Network to End Domestic Violence and the Malala Fund.
For this year's gala, the substantial donations will benefit Activating Change, Fondo Semillas, JBWS, and The New York Women's Foundation.
The event was, as always, co-hosted by Kering's founder and chairman, François-Henri Pinault, and his wife, Salma Hayek, who serves as the honorary president of the Kering Foundation. Pinault emphasized the couple's unwavering dedication, stating, "Salma and I founded the Caring for Women Dinner five years ago because we refused to accept the rise in violence against women and children as a new normal.
The extraordinary generosity of this community has helped transform that conviction into action, bringing us closer to a future where every woman and child can live free from violence."
The guest list was nothing short of spectacular, drawing A-listers from Hollywood, the fashion world, politics, and music. Attendees included icons like Pamela Anderson, Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles, Dakota Johnson, model Alex Consani, Benicio Del Toro, Nacho Figueras, Colman Domingo, and Martha Stewart.
The night also featured performances by Rita Ora and a special DJ set by Paris Hilton at the after-party, all while kicking off New York Fashion Week in style. Other notable personalities present were Julianne Moore, Camilla Marrone, Alix Earle, Jordyn Woods, Karlie Kloss, Homer Gere, Lindsey Vonn, and Huma Abedin.
Beyond the dazzling attire and celebrity sightings, the true focus remained on the impact.
Funds were generated through a combination of ticket sales, table sponsorships, contributions from luxury houses, and public online auctions, all contributing to a night that was as meaningful as it was memorable.
