Stokes Eyes England Coaching Dream & Record Big Bash Comeback!
Cricket icon Ben Stokes reveals his ambition to coach England in the future and is reportedly set for a record AUD 600,000 Big Bash League contract with the Sydney Sixers. Get the details on his evolving career plans!
Former England captain Ben Stokes has expressed a strong desire to transition into coaching, revealing his ambition to one day lead the national team. Stokes, known for his dynamic all-round performance and leadership on the field, is already actively pursuing his coaching qualifications.
Speaking about his future, Stokes shared, "I'm doing my level three coaching now while I'm still playing, because I want, when the day comes that I'm not playing any more, I'd love to be able to have all that stuff signed off and done." He further clarified his intentions, stating, "I know what I want to do in terms of staying within the game, which is to be a coach. And would I love to be coach of England one day? Absolutely." Stokes emphasized his liking for leadership roles, even away from playing, hinting at a natural progression into a managerial position.
Meanwhile, in a separate but equally exciting development, Stokes is reportedly on the verge of making a spectacular return to the Big Bash League (BBL). Sources indicate that he is set to become the league's highest-paid player, with a record-breaking contract worth around AUD 600,000 on the cards. The Sydney Sixers are reportedly leading the race to secure the services of the high-profile cricketer.
This potential BBL comeback aligns with Stokes's earlier decision to retire from international cricket this year, a move he made with the intention of playing in various franchise leagues around the world. However, potential challenges such as scheduling conflicts with other global leagues could still play a role in the finalization of his BBL deal.
