Punjab Teen Arrested for Sharing Security Details with Pak Handlers

A 15-year-old boy was apprehended by Pathankot police on Monday for allegedly sharing information about sensitive locations with Pakistani handlers. The Pathankot Senior Superintendent of Police, Daljinder Singh Dhillon, said the boy had been radicalised on a social media platform and had been in contact with Pakistan-based operatives, ISI, and related groups for about a year.
Police said the Pakistani agents cloned the boy's mobile phone to extract information, and he had videographed several important locations, sharing the footage with the operatives. The SSP described the boy as tech-savvy and noted that the cloning could have allowed the information to go live if not stopped.
The SSP also mentioned that the boy's father resided in J&K and had died over a year ago; the family suspects murder, though investigations did not find evidence of foul play. This experience reportedly affected the boy's psyche. Detained in the Madhopur area, the police warned that, if not intercepted, the youth could have engaged in further suspicious activities. The case underscores concerns about online radicalisation and cross-border terror networks influencing youngsters.
