Faridabad Father Arrested After Beating 4-Year-Old Daughter Over Counting
A Faridabad father has been arrested after allegedly beating his four-and-a-half-year-old daughter to death for failing to count to 50 while being taught at home.
A four-and-a-half-year-old girl in Faridabad died after being beaten with a rolling pin by her father, Krishna Jaiswal, 31, authorities said. The assault reportedly occurred because the child struggled to count from 1 to 50 while the father was teaching her at home in a rented house in Faridabad's Jhadsentli. The family had moved from Sonbhadra in Uttar Pradesh not long before the incident.
Jaiswal was arrested on Friday after his wife, Ranjita, filed a police complaint. He reportedly told doctors the child had fallen, a claim investigators are examining as part of the probe. Their seven-year-old son, who was at home at the time, later told his mother about the beating. The child, Vanshika, was not enrolled in school and was being educated at home by her father, police said.
The girl suffered severe head injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital. Both parents work for a private firm in alternating shifts, with the mother on day duty and the father staying home during the day while working nights. A murder case has been registered under BNS Section 103(1) at Sector 58 police station in Faridabad. Police are reconstructing the sequence of events by recording statements from relatives and neighbours, and a post-mortem examination is underway to corroborate medical findings.
