An Air India Express captain was arrested after allegedly assaulting a passenger at Delhi's IGI Airport, with CCTV footage and medical records backing the accusations.
The incident unfolded on December 19 at the security checkpoint near Terminal 1 of IGI Airport, with the off-duty Air India Express captain involved in an altercation that left a passenger with visible injuries. The passenger, Ankit Dewan, said his seven-year-old daughter witnessed the incident as Dewan and his family attempted to use a staff entry area with a baby in tow. CCTV footage and medical examinations later corroborated Dewan’s account, revealing a nasal fracture and other injuries. Airport authorities intervened, and security staff prepared statements while investigators collected digital evidence from the scene. The Air India Express crew member was initially detained for questioning before formal arrest proceedings.
