Four migrant workers from Assam were found dead in a rented room in Hoskote taluk, Bengaluru Rural district, where they lived while working at a nearby Coca-Cola warehouse.
The victims are Jayanth Sindhe (25), Nirendranath (24), Doctor Tait (25) and Dhanananjay Tait (20). Preliminary investigations indicate suffocation; the room's doors and windows were shut, and a gas stove was on, leading to asphyxiation. The fifth roommate found them and alerted authorities.
A case of unnatural death has been registered, and a detailed probe is underway to verify all angles, including whether there was neglect in providing safe accommodation or other factors. Forensic tests and post-mortems will determine the exact cause.
The Assam chief minister expressed condolences and said he would raise the matter with Karnataka's leadership, with preparations underway to return the bodies to Assam.
