CBI Arrests NTA Expert in NEET-UG 2026 Physics Paper Leak Scandal

The investigation into the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak has taken a major turn with the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arresting an expert appointed by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Manisha Sanjay Havaldar, a lecturer at Seth Hiralal Saraf Prashala in Pune, was taken into custody for her alleged involvement in leaking the physics portion of the examination. This marks the 11th arrest in a case that has sparked national outrage and raised serious questions about the integrity of the country’s premier medical entrance test.

Evidence suggests a growing network of middlemen who allegedly facilitated the leak. While the probe widens, political heat is rising. Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has slammed the NTA’s stance as "irresponsible." Gehlot pointed out a glaring contradiction: while the NTA cancelled the examination, its Chairman, Pradeep Joshi, reportedly told a Parliamentary Committee that he did not believe a leak had occurred. Gehlot described this as a failure of accountability and an attempt to suppress the truth.

Protests have erupted across the country, including a massive demonstration in Jaipur. Critics are accusing the administration of being in a "deep sleep" and failing to take strict action. Some political leaders have even alleged that the investigation is being hampered because of connections to influential figures.
