Ghaziabad Student Murder: Main Accused Killed in Police Encounter

A tragic incident that shook Ghaziabad has taken a dramatic turn. Asad, the primary suspect in the brutal stabbing of 17-year-old Surya Chauhan, was killed in an encounter with the police early Sunday morning. The encounter took place in the Khoda area after the suspect allegedly opened fire on a police team attempting to apprehend him.

Surya Chauhan, a Class 11 student, lost his life after being stabbed during an altercation on May 28. While he was initially rushed to a local hospital and later moved to a private facility in Noida, he tragically succumbed to his injuries on Friday. The dispute reportedly started over something as trivial as riding a motorcycle, though some reports suggest it may have escalated during a Bakrid invitation.

Following the attack, police launched a massive manhunt for Asad, placing a reward of ₹50,000 for any information leading to his arrest. While three other suspects were already in custody, Asad remained on the run until the early hours of Sunday. During the confrontation, a police constable was also injured and is currently receiving medical treatment.

The incident has drawn significant attention from political leaders, with calls for strict justice. The victim's family, devastated by the loss, alleged that Surya was lured to the spot before being attacked by multiple people.
