Brooklyn Beckham's World Cup Ad Sparks Family Drama Buzz!
Brooklyn Beckham stirs the pot with a new DoorDash World Cup ad, humorously hinting at his "complicated" family ties. Is he poking fun at the feud with David & Victoria?
Brooklyn Beckham, son of football legend David Beckham and former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham, is making headlines once again, this time for a new World Cup advert for the food delivery app DoorDash. The teaser clip, released Monday, sees Brooklyn sitting at home, seemingly watching the Fifa World Cup 2026. He then provocatively asks the camera, “You’re probably wondering why I’m watching the Fifa World Cup 2026 from home…” followed by a knowing laugh and the statement, “It’s a long story.”
The 27-year-old, casually dressed, then slaps a handful of World Cup tickets onto his coffee table next to a DoorDash bag. The ad concludes with the text, “It’s complicated. More soon,” leaving viewers to speculate about the meaning behind his words. Many believe Brooklyn is openly referencing the well-documented fracture in his relationship with his famous parents.
This isn't the first time Brooklyn has publicly addressed his family dynamic. Earlier this year, he reportedly accused David and Victoria of trying to "ruin" his relationship with his wife, actor and heiress Nicola Peltz Beckham, in a bombshell Instagram post. The advert also features subtle nods to his other ventures, like a burnt oven pizza and a film camera, perhaps playfully acknowledging public discourse around his past pursuits as a chef and photographer.
The timing of the advert is notable, as David Beckham has been a prominent figure at the current World Cup, attending games and unveiling his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame with Victoria and their other children. David, a football icon with 115 international caps for England and a co-owner of Inter Miami, was seen watching the U.S. vs. Paraguay game, with his family, notably without Brooklyn. The media has reported that David and Victoria are "inconsolable" over Brooklyn's perceived mockery of the family feud in the new advertisement.
