Sameer Rizvi’s unbeaten 70 and Tristan Stubbs’ 39* spark a dramatic DC win as they chase 142, turning a shaky start into a confident six-wicket finish.
Sameer Rizvi, stepping in as an Impact Substitute, produced a masterclass of calm and class to steer Delhi Capitals to a comfortable six-wicket win over Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2026. After DC slipped to 26 for 4 inside the first five overs, Rizvi’s 70 off 47 and Tristan Stubbs’ 39 off 32 stitched an unbroken 119-run fifth-wicket stand that finished the chase in 17.1 overs. Rizvi struck five fours and four sixes, crafting boundaries at will as Delhi eclipsed the target of 142 with plenty of overs to spare.
The turning point arrived in the 10th over, bowled by Shahbaz Ahmed, when Rizvi seized control with a 16-run over that shifted momentum decisively in DC’s favour. He then showcased a broader range, lofting Aiden Markram over long-on and dispatching Mohsin Khan to remind LSG of the task ahead.
