India crushes Namibia 13-0 to top Junior Women's World Cup group
India sprinted to a 13-0 win over Namibia in the Junior Women’s World Cup opener, with Hina Bano and Kanika Siwach claiming hat-tricks and Sakshi Rana scoring twice.
India opened their Junior Women’s World Cup campaign with a dazzling 13-0 victory over Namibia, signaling their intent from the first whistle. Four goals came in the opening 15 minutes as India seized control early. Sakshi Rana opened the scoring at 10’, followed by Kanika Siwach at 12’, Binima Dhan at 14’, and Sonam at 14’, pushing India into a commanding 4-0 lead.
Sakshi Rana then added her second at 23’, and Sakshi Shukla found the net at 27’ to stretch the advantage. Kanika completed her first-half brace at the stroke of halftime, taking India to a 7-0 lead as the interval approached.
In the second half, Hina Bano opened her account with a ferocious strike at 35’ and then added another goal soon after, while Ishika volleyed in a rebound at 36’ to make it 9-0. Kanika Siwach completed her hat-trick from a penalty corner, and Hina sealed her hat-trick with a late strike, pushing the scoreline to 12-0 after three quarters. Manisha finished the rout with a goal at 60’, as India extended their dominance and topped the group standings. Namibia attacked whenever possible but were consistently stifled by India’s disciplined midfield and constant presses. The result underscored India’s depth and goal-scoring appetite as they head into the rest of the group stage with confidence.
