Officials in Srikakulam and Vizianagaram districts are pulling out all the stops as Cyclone Montha looms, with the coast potentially crossing near Kakinada by the night of October 28, 2025. Srikakulam district has set up a dedicated control room in the Collector’s office to monitor vulnerable zones such as Palasa, Sompeta, Santabommali, Kotabommali, and other parts of the Uddanam belt known for cashew and coconut groves. A teleconference, organized by in-charge Collector Farman Ahmed Khan, connected all concerned officials to ensure seamless coordination and swift crisis response.
