Blake Lively Seeks $161 Million in Damages Over It Ends With Us Smear Campaign
Lively’s team says a coordinated smear campaign cost her acting gigs, brand profits, and reputational harm tied to the It Ends With Us release.
Blake Lively is claiming more than $161 million in damages in her ongoing sexual harassment and retaliation lawsuit tied to the release of It Ends With Us. Her lawyers say the alleged campaign targeted her after she spoke up on set, aiming to silence and eviscerate her before she could go public.
The amount is laid out in a July 25 disclosure attached as an exhibit in the case, which lists a detailed breakdown of the supposed losses associated with the smear campaign. The lawyers contend the campaign caused $56.2 million in lost income from past and future acting and producing gigs, speaking engagements, and appearances. Of that total, they estimate $18.3 million in lost wages from August 2024 through the trial’s expected date in March, with another $37.9 million in lost earnings projected down the line.
Lively’s beauty brand, Blake Brown, is said to have suffered a $49 million hit in profits, while her Betty B Holdings beverage company allegedly lost about $22 million in earnings. Additionally, the filing claims 65,000,000 impressions of the defamatory statements translated to roughly $34 million in reputational harm.
The lawsuit, filed last New Year’s Eve in New York, names co-star and director Justin Baldoni, It Ends With Us producer Jamey Heath, Wayfarer Studios head Steve Sarowitz, and several male publicists as defendants. The July disclosure was first reported by Variety and provides a window into the scale of damages the plaintiff says are at stake, though the ultimate amount will be subject to expert testimony at trial.
