The Evening Transition: A Poem
The Evening Transition: A Poem
Reaching peak pure bliss the exact second the uncomfortable bra comes off and the oversized graphic tee goes on....
the front door clicks shut, the armor comes off,
shoes kicked into the corner, purse dropped like lead.
the final boss battle of the day conquered:
reaching under the shirt, unclipping the underwire,
and sliding it out through a sleeve in one smooth motion.
pure, unadulterated relief,
a physical exhale from the soul.
i pull on the freshly washed, extra-large shirt
stolen from an ex three years ago,
now my Netflix buddy.
hair thrown into a messy clip, pants entirely optional.
civilized society is over;
unhinged comfort has officially entered the chat.
oh, what a relief.
