Chandrababu Naidu lays the foundation for Google's 1-GW AI data centre in Visakhapatnam, a ₹1.35 lakh crore project as part of Google's $15B investment in Andhra Pradesh.
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu laid the foundation stone for Google's 1-Gigawatt hyperscale AI data centre at Tarluvada on the outskirts of Visakhapatnam on April 28, 2026. The 601.4-acre site will host a project valued at ₹1.35 lakh crore and stands as one of India's largest single foreign direct investment commitments, part of Google’s $15 billion investment pledge for Andhra Pradesh.
Raiden Infotech, Google’s subsidiary, will manage the facility, in partnership with Adani Infra. The broader venture includes AdaniConneX and Airtel Nxtra, highlighting a wide collaboration to build out the state’s AI and cloud infrastructure.
Industry analysts say the centre could draw banking, financial services, and IT firms to Visakhapatnam, transforming Vizag into a technology hub. Officials expect the project to spur local job creation, boost ancillary industries, and accelerate digital adoption.
The foundation marks a landmark shift for the Visakhapatnam region and aligns with Google's larger commitment to Andhra Pradesh, signaling a long-term trajectory of growth driven by AI, data centers, and cloud services.
