A deadly blast at an explosives factory in Nagpur has killed at least 15 workers, with several injuries as rescue teams race to reach those trapped.
At least 15 people were killed in a blast at an explosives manufacturing factory in Maharashtra's Nagpur district early Sunday. The explosion occurred at the SBL Energy Limited factory, a mining and industrial explosives manufacturer, at Raulgaon in Katol tehsil. The blast hit the detonator packing unit between 7:00 and 7:15 am, a senior police official said.
Rescue teams rushed the injured to a hospital in Nagpur. A company official said rescue operations were underway and that a statement would be issued soon as investigators began assessing the cause and extent of the damage.
The incident has prompted authorities to secure the site and coordinate with factory managers to support those affected as the investigation continues.
