BJP MP's Daughter Sparks Row with Post on Pradhan's Resignation!
A social media post by Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi's daughter celebrating Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation sparks major backlash within Odisha BJP. Dive into the controversy!
A social media post by Archita Sachin Rahar, daughter of Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi, has ignited significant resentment within the Odisha BJP. The post, which appeared on Instagram, allegedly celebrated the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan as Union Education Minister amidst widespread student protests concerning the NEET leak fiasco.
Ms. Rahar's Instagram story featured a photograph of Mr. Pradhan set against the national flag, accompanied by the text: “Dharmendra Pradhan resigns amid massive student protests over NEET leak fiasco.” This post stands in stark contrast to the sentiments expressed by other State BJP leaders, including her own mother, who have publicly shown sympathy for Mr. Pradhan.
While Ms. Sarangi, a two-time MP from Bhubaneswar, remained unavailable for comment, sources close to the matter revealed that she had reportedly asked her daughter to remove the controversial post. This request came after a phone call from Mr. Pradhan’s office, but it appears the directive was not followed.
The post has drawn sharp criticism from several BJP leaders. Jagannath Pradhan, a prominent party figure, voiced his strong disapproval, stating, “Mr. Pradhan is son of the soil. His resignation has hurt us. Odias have welcomed the daughter of Bihar [Aparajita] and made her MP twice.” He further added that Ms. Sarangi "should have control over her family members" and "should tender an apology to Odisha for her daughter making adverse remarks against Mr. Pradhan.” The incident highlights growing internal rifts within the party.
