Two days after a promotional song-launch for The Raja Saab, actress Nidhhi Agerwal was swarmed by fans outside Lulu Mall, Hyderabad, making her struggle to exit. The incident was captured on video and widely circulated online, prompting police to file a suo motu case.
Two members of Lulu Mall management and one Shreyas Media representative were summoned for questioning by the KPHB police over alleged lapses in permissions, crowd control and security.
Officials said the actor did not want to file a formal complaint, but the investigation proceeded after authorities registered the case.
The case, registered under sections 223 and 292 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, focuses on disobedience of orders and public nuisance, with authorities aiming to determine why prior permissions were not obtained and where security fell short.
The incident occurred as Agerwal was leaving the venue; videos show a surge as fans crowded around her near the exit, making it hard for security to create a safe passage.
Police said they will call the accused again for further questioning as the probe continues, highlighting the need for stricter event protocols in crowded venues.
