IndiGo Refunds Processed as DGCA Announces GoC Vouchers for Passengers
DGCA confirms refunds for IndiGo disruptions and announces two INR 5,000 travel vouchers totaling INR 10,000 for affected passengers.
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) says refunds for IndiGo flights disrupted between December 3 and 5, 2025 have been fully processed and returned to the original payment method. Passengers are eligible for compensation under DGCA Civil Aviation Requirements (CAR) Section 3, Series M, Part IV, which covers issues like denied boarding, cancellations, and delays. This move comes after the airline faced a wave of cancellations during the period and signals a push to resolve financial grievances for travelers.
In addition to refunds, IndiGo has introduced a Gesture of Care (GoC) program. Affected passengers whose flights were canceled within 24 hours of departure may access a dedicated link to claim additional compensation. The airline is offering two travel vouchers worth INR 5,000 each, totaling INR 10,000, with a validity of 12 months. The vouchers are designed to complement refunds and provide immediate financial relief for those who endured delays or cancellations.
Eligibility hinges on flights canceled or delayed by more than three hours during the affected window. The full list of eligible flights is available online, and passengers can check their status and submit their details for the vouchers via the IndiGo website. Passengers are advised to ensure contact details provided at booking are accurate to enable timely communication about schedule changes and assistance.
There have been ongoing complaints on social media about refunds for hundreds of flights canceled abruptly between December 2 and 9. The DGCA and IndiGo reiterate their commitment to transparency and timely resolution, with refunds already processed for the period and additional compensation options now clearly outlined.
This coordinated effort reflects regulatory oversight and carrier accountability as travelers seek closure on disrupted travel plans and the financial relief that follows.
