Veteran film producer and screenwriter Salim Khan is in Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital after a brain haemorrhage and has been placed on ventilator support as a precaution to keep his condition stable. The medical team says his situation is serious but not critical, and the ventilator is being used to prevent any further deterioration while he is observed. Doctors noted there was a minor haemorrhage that was tackled and did not require surgery.
A digital subtraction angiography (DSA) procedure was performed to assess the bleed, with the team including cardiologists and neurologists confirming the haemorrhage was minor and managed without surgical intervention. They also mentioned that Mr. Khan arrived with high blood pressure, which has since been addressed as part of his ongoing care.
Hospital sources indicated that he is expected to be taken off ventilator support on Thursday, February 19, 2026, and will remain under observation for a few more days as his age makes the recovery timeline longer. Family members and fans have been gathering outside the hospital, underscoring the public interest in his health.
