'Donald Trump' Albino Buffalo Sold for Eid Sacrifice in Bangladesh
Meet the viral albino buffalo named 'Donald Trump'! With a signature blond tuft, this rare animal became a social media sensation before being sold for the Eid sacrifice in Dhaka.
A rare albino buffalo, which became an internet sensation for its striking resemblance to former U.S. President Donald Trump, has officially been sold ahead of the Eid al-Adha festival in Bangladesh. The animal, weighing nearly 1,540 pounds, captured the hearts of locals and social media users worldwide due to a unique tuft of blond hair on its forehead that mirrors the politician's famous hairstyle.
Raised on a farm in the Narayanganj district, the buffalo was nicknamed "Donald Trump" by the owner’s younger brother. Farm owner Ziauddin Mridha shared that the animal was remarkably docile and gentle, a common trait for albino buffaloes unless they are provoked. The cream-colored body and pinkish nose made it a rare sight in a country where most buffaloes are dark-skinned.
As news of the "celebrity" animal spread, dozens of visitors traveled daily from various districts to the farm just to snap a selfie or record a video with the unusual creature. Its fame even reached international diplomatic circles, with some foreign accounts using the buffalo's image to make lighthearted or political jabs.
The fame, however, has led to a traditional conclusion. The "Donald Trump" buffalo was recently sold on a live-weight basis to a trader from the Old Dhaka region. It is set to be part of the livestock sacrifices for the Muslim festival of Eid al-Adha, a time when families across the country purchase and sacrifice cattle.
While many found the comparison amusing, the sale marks the end of the buffalo's stint as a local attraction. The animal remains one of the most talked-about stories of the season, blending politics, tradition, and the power of a viral moment.
