New Delhi is on high alert after multiple schools and even the Civic Centre received bomb threat emails on Monday morning. The unsettling messages prompted swift action from authorities, leading to evacuations and extensive anti-sabotage checks across the capital. At least six schools across the National Capital were targeted, with four of them located in central Delhi.
Among those affected were prominent institutions such as Sanskriti School, The British School, and Navy Children School, all situated in the Chanakyapuri area. Other schools like The Mother's International School in Hauz Khas and Bal Bharti School in Rohini also reported receiving similar threats.
The emails started arriving around 9:30 AM, triggering immediate responses from school administrations who promptly informed the police and fire control room. The Delhi Fire Services (DFS) confirmed receiving multiple calls regarding the threats, with the first report coming in at 9:40 AM from The Mother's International School.
Fire tenders and personnel were immediately dispatched to the affected locations.
Police teams, accompanied by bomb detection and disposal squads and sniffer dogs, swiftly reached the schools to oversee the evacuation processes and conduct thorough searches. As of now, officials have confirmed that nothing suspicious has been found during the extensive checks. This raises the strong possibility that these threats may turn out to be hoaxes.
However, authorities are taking no chances, maintaining a high level of vigilance to ensure the safety of students and staff.
The investigation is ongoing to identify the source of these alarming emails.
The incident highlights the growing concern over online threats and their potential to disrupt daily life and create widespread panic.
While the immediate danger appears to have been averted, the event serves as a stark reminder of the importance of robust security protocols and swift emergency responses in urban environments.
